Since 1917, Georgia's first and only statewide historical society has been the publisher of Georgia's scholarly history journal. Now GHS is the publisher of the state's popular history magazine, as well.
Georgia History Today explores the ongoing presence of the past. Unlike our scholarly journal, The Georgia Historical Quarterly, Georgia History Today examines efforts underway around the state to promote history, including articles on some of the fascinating documents and artifacts in the Georgia Historical Society's collection, historic sites around the state, new books being published, and the programs and activities of our affiliates throughout Georgia. Georgia History Today also spotlights the many Georgians who are making a difference in how history is preserved and taught, both through their time and resources.
Georgia History Today also includes GHS news, a calendar of events, and recognition of donor contributions. In addition, GHS President and CEO, Dr. Todd Groce contributes his Perspectives article to every issue of Georgia History Today, and an archive of those articles can be found here .
